Medical aid schemes: Employees have more choices than they think

Many employees have been complaining about being forced to belong to a particular medical scheme. This article (http://www.risksa.com/medical-aid-schemes-employees-have-more-choices-than-they-think/) explains that if it is not stipulated in the employees’ contract, the employees have no obligation to belong to the medical scheme that the company prefers.

    Why do you think do employers put medical scheme membership into the contract of employment in the first place?

    Try and think of the interests of both stakeholders (employer and employees).

    What are the interests of Genesis (who are raising this point), do you think?
